About this collection

Every plate here pairs a hummingbird with a flower built for it: rufous salvia, annas penstemon, violetear fuchsia, broadbill cuphea, swordbill brugmansia, lucifer hamelia, and topaz tecoma among them. Bird and bloom are captioned together in script italic with their Latin binomials.

Deep black does for these birds what dusk does at the feeder - the throat colors go electric. Warm white flips the emphasis to the botany, all trumpet and tube. Try a powder room, a bay window wall, or wherever you watch the feeders from.

Violetear fuchsia is a strong first plate. Run it with rufous salvia and swordbill brugmansia for a column of three.

  • Matte poster, printed on demand
  • Six sizes, 8x10 up to 24x36 inches
  • Printed reproduction of an illustrated design - sold unframed
  • Every flower in the set is a true nectar plant - tubular and nectar-rich, the kind these birds actually work.
