About this collection

A specimen drawer without the pins. The luna moth, stag beetle, mantis, cicada, firefly, and monarch take one plate apiece, and every insect carries its Latin binomial in script italic beneath.

Deep black works like the felt lining of an entomology case; iridescence and wing veins show against it as if backlit, and the set leans dark academia without trying. Warm white, by contrast, feels like a page out of a summer field notebook. Hang them in a study, on a library wall, or over a reading chair.

The luna moth is the plate to start with. Set the stag beetle and cicada on either side of it for a proper cabinet row.

  • Matte poster, printed on demand
  • Six sizes, 8x10 up to 24x36 inches
  • Printed reproduction of an illustrated design - sold unframed
  • Fifteen plates hold a single insect; the ants, true to form, come as a group.
